So… A lot has happened since the last post and now. I was planning to go to Cape May in August. However, I didn’t have funds for my trip after getting a car. So, I thought to completely abandon my trip to Cape May until next year and focus on Chicago in December. However… I was thinking recently that the time is now. I am the only one who can make this dream happen. There are a lot of epic people out there in the world. I want to do something that’s truly epic. I want to travel around this country and throughout the world. Just marvel at nature and architecture. I need to keep moving forward and force my dream to become a reality. On Wednesday, I looked at the weather and noticed it was going to be really nice in Cape May on Saturday. I thought the time would be perfect. Probably my only shot before autumn. Two days to plan a trip that spanned over 200 miles was interesting. I already had in mind what I wanted to do but I took more time to plan my trip to Hartford. I couldn’t afford a bus ticket so I had to drive down there which ended up being a good idea. I realized that the bus doesn’t go to the lighthouse and it was 3 miles away. I never drove out of state before. The furthest I’ve driven was to Lancaster. At first, I wasn’t nervous but last night the nerves hit me hard. I thought I needed more time to plan this out. I was unsure if I can drive the distance. I was unsure about many things but the drive was awesome. I really do love driving. It feels exhilarating to me, especially going fast. 😉
Cape May was just a beautiful experience for me. It felt just like Hartford, just a magical experience. There was a point I felt like I was in wonderland, crazy I know. The houses looked incredible! The colors, structure, some places looked kind of whimsical in an enchanted way. I guess that’s the best way I can describe it. I went to the Mad Batter restaurant. The name reminds me of the Mad Hatter in Wonderland. Maybe it’s all a coincidence. I heard about the place on Trip Advisor. I love that the restaurant is also a hotel. It looks like a house on the outside. The food was amazing. I had the best Ceasar salad ever at that place. It was better than my entree.
The best part of my trip is going to the lighthouse. I have never been inside of a lighthouse. That’s what I love so much about this journey. It’s been awesome, scary, crazy, and simply incredible on every level. I’m so thankful to have gone to this place and push myself past doubt and fear. The lighthouse was amazing! I had to climb 199 steps. I was a little tired at the top but it was worth the climb. The view was great! I took the photo from the thumbnail at the top of the lighthouse. While I was taking pictures, I thought I had to go to the beach and take photos of the lighthouse from there. I had no intentions going to the beach at the beginning but it was great. Thinking about the moment, It felt so pure is unique. I made a small video. I may post it here someday. Maybe… 😀
Another great thing about this journey is adding another keychain to my collection. I hope to collect keychains from all 50 states. I’m ready to start making this album. I’m aiming for 5 speed art designs and a video album featuring a good amount of video footage. It’s going to be a challenge but I can do this!
