Day two of my 30 day design challenge and I am very nervous. I finished this design an hour before midnight! I know one thing for sure. I will never do this again! I will start making designs earlier in the day. I started a little after 8:30pm. Thankfully, I made the drawing earlier. If I didn’t, I’m not sure I would be finished. When 10pm hit, I was literally on edge. I didn’t feel like I was close to completing this design. I was having an interesting conversation during the first hour of making this design. I felt rushed in the past but this was on a new level. I didn’t want to fail two days into this challenge. That would be embarrassing! I focused and tried to steer this design in the right direction. I don’t like feeling rushed!
What’s really bothering me is that I’m only two days into this challenge and I’m on panic mode. I need to be more efficient. I will wake up earlier to get other work done. I don’t want my designs to look like crap because I’m rushing through every design. Once I find my groove, I will be fine. I think after day 7, it will be smooth sailing for me. The problem is I can’t dedicate the whole day to my art. I have to work around the problems and be victorious in this challenge.
Drawing the design was slightly difficult. I wanted to focus on rectangles but went in another direction. I wanted to add another object in this design because I had so much fun making Parenthesis. I looked around and saw a toy car on the counter. My boyfriend found the car as prize in a cereal box. While I was making the design, I wanted to keep the car visible. I think I did ok in doing that but I would have liked to work with the design a bit more. I stopped myself a few minutes after 11pm. I am happy with how the design looks. It was definitely a speed run. I hope you like it as well.
