Synthesizer

I have been listening to a lot of 80’s music while designing lately. I usually listen to electronic and post rock. Sometimes I listen to Art Bell. There’s a radio section on tune in that has Art Bell on 24/7. It’s awesome… but I only listen to Art Bell while designing if Ghost to Ghost is playing. I know in the past, I would speculate if the music I was playing had a direct impact on my designs. Now I believe it definitely has a key role. I was leaning towards more pink, light blue, and purple throughout making the design. Synth Pop Girl has similar color tones.

I made several versions of this design. Originally, I was just going to concentrate on the two best designs and post them here and on social media. I love every design I created and I thought to post every version around the web. Why not… I spent hours making every version. No sense to keep them on my hard drive to collect dust with only me knowing they exist. I’ve done that in the past. When my computer died, I ended up losing so many designs without anyone seeing it. I am a part of a couple of groups on Google. I see many artists posting multiple designs every day. I would like to add more variety in the groups. I do have a favorite and that will be the design posted here and in my shop. I will post kaleidoscope versions and different color variations online.

I decided to go into another direction with patterns. Instead of sticking with one pencil sketch pattern, I used two. I didn’t want to use kaleidoscope as a primary blend in the design. There are many ways to rotate the pencil sketch and I wanted to used multiple rotated sketches. I think I was successful in blending the two patterns. I might try it again because I love how this design looks.

There’s another face, well four altogether in this design. I hope you see it. You can see one the faces on the thumbnail for the music video. It’s at the bottom right corner. I love it when the faces pop up. Contours is a lovely effect. It brings a strange element in the mix. I try to use the effect in every design.

I used another song from the Violent album from Talk Less Say More. At first, I made a video with Yeah That’s Right. However, when I saw the finished video, I didn’t think the song fit the video speed. Unfortunately, I have to make the designs blind in Windows Movie Maker. I can’t see the finished product because the program skips. I use to finish the video in Sony Vegas but I have to render the video twice. I noticed the quality isn’t the same as before when I used Movie Maker only. So… I created the intro and outro in Vegas, put it in Movie Maker and then edit the screen recording. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I have the hardest time speeding up videos in Vegas. If I didn’t have that problem, I would use Sony Vegas only. I used the song Cantona instead and it’s awesome! It fits the pace of the video and I love it. I hope you love it as well.
