Philly Skyline

Philly Skyline

March 3rd, 2019 Update: I am adding designs and music videos made before this domain was bought in December 2013. Philly Skyline was originally posted on December 16th, 2012. I had a different domain at that time called katherinebarnett.me. Unfortunately, I lost all written content for the blog. I did write a little bit about the design on my Youtube Channel. You can read more information about Philly Skyline below. Thanks!

I thought in an effort to create more art and travel more I wanted to create a design devoted to cities around the united states. Starting with the city that I was raised in: Philadelphia, PA. The designs are my own interpretation of the skyline. My own remix…

I sketched a rough outline from a picture of the Philadelphia Skyline. It included the Liberty bell, Comcast center and a few other buildings nearby.

March 3rd, 2019 Update: Honestly, looking back at the original design, I absolutely hate it. I made several variations and there’s one that I loved but I can’t find it anywhere. I did lose lots of designs several months after making this design and sadly the version I loved was one of them. I did post the original on this post but the thumbnail features a small edit I made today. I had to change the colors. I didn’t spend too much time on the update, less than 10 minutes. I couldn’t let the original be seen as a thumbnail for this post. It’s really bad. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time.

This is a Traditional/Digital Abstract Design.
Tools: Pencil, Oil Pastel, Paintship Pro

The Song used in video is called Rocky 5000 by Casetofoane. It’s cool that I found a great song that features a character that is iconic in Philadelphia.
