This design was truly a small battle with color. I don’t work with orange often. It’s not a favorite color but I don’t dislike it. The color seems like an oddball to me. I don’t think about using orange when I begin a design. For this video, I had a little inspiration. I looked at one of my friend’s videos and thought the color blends in his designs looked really good. You can check out the video here.
Orange is a cool color. You can do so much with it but only if you get the right balance. It is so easy to go into red or yellow territory. My challenge was to stick with orange throughout the journey. It was hard. I was loving the colors throughout the design process but I kept thinking I’m not there yet and there’s something missing.
I still don’t know if I have the right balance. All I can say is that I’m intrigued by this color. I want to create more orange designs. I want to master every shade if possible. I loved the challenge and it’s not over yet.
