February 4th, 2019 Update: I am adding designs and music videos made before this domain was bought in December 2013. Purple Carousel was originally posted on November 24th, 2013. I had a different domain at that time called katherinebarnett.me. Unfortunately, I lost all written content for the blog. I did write a little bit about the design on my Youtube Channel. You can read more information about Purple Carousel below. Thanks!

Sorry for the abrupt ending. I’ve been having troubles with the video editing program I’m using.
The end of the design process was the turning point in this design. While I was making The Purple Carousel, I wanted to create a design that featured blue and red. I made a design that I really liked featuring blue and red but the texture on design was horrible. I had to go back and figure out how to make the texture look better. I ended up going into a completely new direction while I testing out certain textures. The design took a little over three hours to complete.
Primary colors in this design are purple, white, and blue. There are bits of dark yellow in the design. In the beginning, I kept seeing two figures at the top of the design. I actually highlighted it section in the music video at 3:48. To me, it looks like two people are kissing. I didn’t use it for the final version but I really like the effect.
Tools used to create Purple Carousel are Pencil and Paintshop Pro.
I titled this design The Purple Carousel because after I added the kaleidoscope effect, I immediately thought this design looks like one big carousel. I didn’t add the effect until the end.
