This design was very hard to make. You can probably tell from the video that I was going in a lot of different directions. Initially, I wanted this design to be part of my Valentine’s Day theme. However… I couldn’t get a sweet spot with red in this design. I was willing to keep going towards the end but I already passed the 4 hour marker. It becomes very challenging to make a music video if I pass 4 hours unless I cut a lot of footage. I was starting to get upset that I placed this restriction on myself because I was digging the blue and purple designs I created.
So… I thought to end the theme and keep going with blends that I loved and I really like the designs I made. The finished design is not featured in the music video. I wanted to keep working on it but it’s not drastically different from the video. I am definitely going to challenge myself to create more red designs. It’s strange but I must admit that I’m having a hard time with red. There was one design that I like but I didn’t feel it was complete.
Why Geometric Daze? I was very dazed and confused making this design. I had a focus but I was lost throughout most of the design process. I wanted to keep the spotlight on the drawing I made but it was hard. Really hard. I do love experimenting with color even when it’s a challenge.
