Giant is featured as design 53 at my Youtube channel: BeatnikBlends
Happy Holidays! I’ve been wanting to create a design for several days and I’m ecstatic to be at my 53rd music video for my YouTube channel. Every video is one step closer to reaching triple digits. Reaching 100 videos would be extraordinary for me. I’ve been having such a great time. Despite all the up and downs, and there have been many downs, I am happy that I’m still able to create new art. The road I’m on is truly fascinating. I can’t tell you how much I love working with color.
Lately, I’ve been trying to replicate colors that I see in pictures. This is a new challenge for me. The first time I attempted this challenge was for silence the madness and now I’m trying to do it again for this design. I found another picture that I loved while listening to music on YouTube. I listen to Suicide Sheep and Only Chillstep a lot. Both channels have awesome artwork in the videos. I think I got one color right but my initial focus was to use green, yellow and a nice mixture of blue and white in the final design. However… I do like how the design. I’m forever amazed with color. There are so many directions that color can take you on. You start out on one road and you end up in another city of color in the end. It’s awesome.
I called this design Giant because while I was blending the patterns I saw an odd shape forming. In my opinion, the sketch was forming an outline of a giant. I kept thinking about a giant posing throughout the design process.
Primary colors used are green, white, and yellow. I made three variations and one design features bits of blue and pink.
I ran into some problems with the music video. The beginning transition doesn’t appear correctly and I forgot to change the recording options. I was testing different ways to capture video, removing parts of the visuals so you can see more design and less paintshop. I didn’t like the results because you can see bars in the video. Like the saying goes, if it’s not broke don’t fix it. :/ I changed the settings back so you won’t see that mistake happen again. I also ran into memory issues with movie maker. Making the video is always the hardest part. I can’t see what went wrong until after the video saves to my computer. If I do the video over again it will take a lot more time. I couldn’t fix the bars since I recorded the design while I was making it. I apologize for the errors. I will do my best not to let these mistakes happen again.
