Rodin Museum (Philadelphia Travel Series)

Rodin Museum (Philadelphia Travel Series)

While I was walking back from the Art Museum, I took several pictures of Rodin Museum. It’s about three blocks, very long blocks, from the Art Museum. I thought it would be a cool picture to work on in the album. I love the statue in front of the museum. I was going to create a sketch and work with the statue by itself but I thought to feature the museum.

I played around with kaleidoscope and rotating mirror a lot in this design. If I can get the right balance on both effects I can create nice designs. Every design is an experiment, some are successful and others are not. I am a little on the fence with this design. I feel that I could have done more. However, I am very happy with the result. I mirrored the museum and added it to the pathway. I also blended a kaleidoscope version of the design to the pathway as well. I’ve worked with purple a lot in the past. I sampled with lighter blends of purple in this design. I try to play with many color blends. I like working with darker, bolder colors. This design is a little out of my element but I love to be out of my element with color.

In my early 20’s, I started writing a book called The Roamers. It was about a journey through alternate realities. I lost most of my story when my computer died two years ago. I wrote a chapter about a woman who had a shop dedicated to memories. She collected them from her own travels and also from others who visited the shop. The main character stopped by and was curious about the shop. The woman told her that she collected dreams. She wasn’t looking to make a profit but to share experiences about different realities. The reason why I’m mentioning this is because I feel connected to that character. At the time of writing it, I wrote about a character who died early on in the book. The character who died was based on my personality. I wasn’t focused on creating designs at the time. It was more like a hobby. It feels strange but now I feel that the woman in that shop is me, what I strive to become in this life. Someone who explores color by manipulating nature. I had a dream last night that was awesome but I only remember bits and pieces of it. I met a celebrity who makes videos traveling to different cities throughout the world. I was awestruck. I tried to keep my nerves at a minimum. I do remember telling him about my travel series and I don’t remember if he liked my work.

It would be so awesome to put my own spin on many different places throughout the world. Create an alternate reality where color becomes a tour guide. Hopefully, I can travel to many places and become one with nature and color. It’s awesome to have these dreams. It feels like affirmations of journeys to come. I hope all of this doesn’t sound like I’m completely nuts. If it does then I guess I am crazy. I will continue trying to make every dream come true in this reality. I do hope you like this design and the music video.
