The first trip, I traveled around Pier 70 (Columbus BLVD), Olde City, Society Hill, and South Street. I will be featuring designs in every section. I also took a picture of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. I felt like such a tourist. I guess in some ways I was a tourist. The last time I saw the Liberty Bell was during school trip in elementary school. A long time ago…
This deign features my first destination which was Pier 70. There were a few boats in the area. The boat featured is called the Gazela. There were two men working on the boat at the time. One was on top of the boat and I took a few pictures. Here’s a big disclaimer: I am not a photographer. I used my phone take the pictures. I will be buying a digital camera for my next travel series. Hopefully in the future, I will take better shots.
The area itself felt very serene and calming. It’s was a beautiful day. Cold and sunny… two combinations that I love. The colors that surrounded the area where light so I wanted to keep similar color tones in this design. I did create a few variations that vary in color scheme. I am only posting one version of this design. I’m not a fan of the other variations. I’m not sure if I’m going to post the designs in the upcoming album.
I had a hard time making this design. I knew where I wanted to go with color yet textures were off. I also wanted to add more contours and patterns to the final designs. Every time I wanted to add more, certain elements began to disappear. I couldn’t recognize the boat or the bridge in the background. It was frustrating. I am happy with the results. I would like to keep working on this design but I have to keep moving forward. There are many more designs that I have to make. I have a deadline for mid February to finish this album.
A few days ago, I had a dream about visiting the Rocky Statue. It was quite strange. I’ll talk more about that in my upcoming podcast episode. I do hope you like this design.
On a side note: I had another Paris dream last night. It was great. I don’t remember all of it but I do remember running with two people in the streets of Paris. We were trying to find a way back home but were limited on time. I was smiling and people around me where smiling as well. The feelings were divine to me. I really love having dreams of Paris. It always makes me smile. To do a travel series in Paris would make my life complete. Well… that’s the goal.
If you like to support my work, you can buy an art print of The Gazela here. You can also share this page with your friends and family. I am forever grateful to anyone that visits this website. ♥ Katherine…
