Rabbit Hole

Rabbit Hole

Down the rabbit hole of color. Endless color blends. Endless destinations. I love it. I know I mentioned how much I love color a lot but I can’t help myself.  The journey in discovering color is simply awesome.

One thing I missed doing is sketching patterns. I love to draw 3d shapes. I know as time moves on I’ll be able to draw more intricate patterns. I thought about drawing houses and buildings. I used to be able to trace really well when I was a kid. I remember doing it a lot in school. I always loved to doodle and play around but never took it seriously or developed the skills. Sometimes I wish if I saw how much I loved art back then, maybe things would be a bit different now. I went down a different path, more science and computer related.

I love the ride I was on with this abstract design. Lots and lots of lovely blues. I haven’t really gone down a dark blue path before and stuck to it. Most of the time I venture off in different directions. About midway, I was completely satisfied with the colors but the texture didn’t look good. I dedicated several more hours in finding the fight texture. I didn’t want to lose the design itself by blending more textures. Texture is always a big problem for me.

I’m going to try to make another design this weekend. I have a lot of stuff to do. I actually made this design at the beginning of the week. Life has been a little busy and honestly very sad and stressful.

My birthday is coming up in less than 2 weeks. Every day, I’m getting more nervous. This year has not been good. It’s interesting because I read over my about page the other day, thinking I should update it, and couldn’t help but laugh. I was so optimistic last year. Well… Another failed year in the record books.

I need to become more fearless.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you’ll miss it.”

Ferris Bueller couldn’t be more right.

And… I’m going to end this post with that awesome quote. Hope you love the artwork and music video.
